Threads

In Karin Jervert's second collection of poems, Threads, she again picks up the powerful ancient tools of song, prayer, and poetic transformation in a time in history that feels steeped in loss, endings, and death to find her way towards life again. Threads has a deep rumbling throughout, a rage and grit at its base, the kind of rumbling that erupts from the Earth like new life breaking out of winter soil, or an earthquake, or volcano.



These poems speak to how much life asks of us, the determination to lose over and over again yet still carry on. Each poem seems to point to a kind of liberation found in the losing itself.
