Father Joe Macaffery is a man whose life was a mystery before his arrival in the sea-side town of Bindaree. He enjoys great popularity, until he decides to help school the town's disadvantaged Indigenous teens in his church. With a handful of streetwise helpers he fights a bigoted Mayor, a psychotic drug dealer and the prejudices of small town Australia.
