This is Brigid is an overview of the much-loved Goddess and Saint of Ireland. As an expression of the Great Mother, Brigid was venerated Goddess in Pagan Ireland. She was daughter of the Dagda, consort to Bres and mother to Ruadan. She is the triple Goddess of Poetry, Healing and Smithcraft. She is also Goddess of the Fire, Goddess of the Spring and Goddess of the Sun. She exists in the four elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water and is of the four elements. She exists within all stages of Womanhood of Maiden, Lover, Mother, Queen and Crone. She is the giver of life and to whom we return home to in death through the earth, her body.

As Saint she is Patron Saint of many things to many people including babies, foster children and those feeling forgotten or invisible by society. Brigid was and continues to be the one many people call to for healing, comfort and inspiration and much more. Although Goddess and Saint are both different expressions of this much adored deity there is a lot of similarity between the two. Brigid as her name suggests is the Bridge between both cults, between the past and the present and between beginnings and endings. She represents the light of life that comes forward out of the transformation of the old.
