The book you are about to read is about things I have learned the hard way. It is just like the title says, things I wish someone would have told me when I became a Christian. And not just me because as I taught this I surveyed many people and asked them what they wished someone would have told them when they became a Christian. Some of those responses are in this book. The response was overwhelming. Everyone had something to say My heart really went out to them because many of the things they wrote to me were cries of pain, people really trying to live for God but struggling. I will probably get accused by some when they read this book of oversimplifying things. I say to that, It is about time someone oversimplified things I am not impressed with people who know all the big impressive theological terminology and cannot communicate with people who genuinely want to learn. But, like the Word says, "If the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?" (1 Corinthians 14:8). It is time to speak clearly and teach in a way that edifies all people My hope is when you read these words that you too will gain new insights and understanding in how to really pray, how to really study God's Word, understand adversity and more. I don't claim to know it all. The words I present I present humbly, but I also present them with the power and authority of a Bible believing child of God. The truth will set you free (John 8:32). It is my desire with this book that God will use these words to set you free to be all that you were meant to be in Christ. This book is great for the new Christian as well as for someone who has been a Christian for a while. Churches will want to consider stocking this book to be given out to the new believer and for teaching discipleship classes.
