Beskrivelse
In today's American society, the prevailing cultural message appears to be that the older you get, the less personal and social value you offer. Ageism continues to thrive and is even more flagrant than ever. The practice, therefore, begs for a new name, senocrisy, short for senior hypocrisy, and defined as a hypocritical stance against seniors. Many of those in the minority who don't share this view are apathetic enough that they hide from what is happening and don't try to correct the inequities they witness. Instead, older human beings who are unfortunate enough to live more than the "socially-acceptable" number of decades become the outcasts of society. Recent changes to healthcare law will ensure they can't even get the social programs and health care they need. Apparently, that is the plan. Don't have the money? Suffer. Or even better, die This book is a call to arms for Baby Boomers. We're alive and we deserve to live the right way. This first book describes the truth of growing old and how to make it better.
