They Come Out Only at Night, and They Are Among Us

After a serious death in the family, Nik Wood accepts a job as a lighthouse keeper. The workplace is located in a wasteland in the far north of Scotland, on the outer Hebrides islands. What he will discover in that place will change his life forever. It will force him to fight against those monstrous beings that come from another galaxy. Fallen on Earth over ten thousand years ago, the aliens survived by feeding on humans and animals that they kidnap during full moon nights. In the nearby village people disappear without a trace, with the inhabitants now resigned to the disappearances. With the help of a strange being, himself a prisoner of the aliens, he will be able to have a clear vision of the aims and weaknesses of those beings. After a battle, which will see Nik almost completely exterminating those monsters, he is forced to flee from Scotland, taking with him a newborn that he saved while he was being turned into food. But the monsters always manage to find him and the child, seeking their revenge. The only salvation is to move continuously to isolated and rarely visited places, continuing the battle to save himself and humanity. But the battle does not end with a winner... and perhaps it will never end.
