They Call Me Africa

Amiri loves school and can't wait for the first day of third grade.  However, when he arrives he is faced with the ugliness of racism and bullying in his class by his classmates. He is heartbroken by the constant taunts about his dark brown skin and his hair that is styled into locs. He could have done what the bullies were doing to him but he decides to handle the situation in a different way.  The results of his decision surprised everyone in the class including his teacher.
