From the point of view of literature, theater, and media studies, this volume illustrates the reciprocal relationship between theater and crisis. While drama, in which the aesthetic model of crisis is already inscribed with the moment of peripeteia, has not only always addressed social crises, stage art itself also functions as a motor of social emergence by disrupting existing orders and raising awareness of them as such.
