The Works of Iwamiya Takeji

Takeji Iwamiya left behind a substantial collection on his death 30 years ago. From that collection, 421 pieces were selected to form this retrospective of the life of a master photographer of the Showa Era. Long established as the unwavering standard for photographers to come, he is said to be the first to truly fathom the intrinsic beauty of Japanese culture after the desolation of the Pacific War.
