People are disappearing from remote locations.
Abandoned cars, neatly piled belongings, and bizarre last photographs, are the only clues for what happened to them.
Did they run away? Or, as DI Giles suspects, have they fallen prey to a serial killer who is taunting police with the heinous pieces of a puzzle they must solve if they are to stop the wilderness murderer.
