The War Within

Set in the Pacific theater during World War II, a young army nurse struggles to contribute to the war effort. Helen questions her faith in the face of the horrific suffering she sees in the men entrusted to her care. The treatment she receives from other staff at the station hospital stirs up past hurts, and causes her to question her ability to provide the extraordinary care required of her. Through it all, she finds unexpected allies and a well of strength she never knew she had, while gaining a fresh perspective on her family and the values they instilled in her.
