The powerful kingdom of Kashem has been knocked out of the war and the kingdom of Troas has survived, barely, its besieged capital, where the king has kept the majority of the enemy's forces attention, endures the most barbaric siege in history. This stand allowed the Queen and her Field Marshals the opportunity to defeat the forces before them piecemeal.
Standing on the edge of the forest south of Troas the armies see the results of that siege, a horror so terrible, none can begin to describe it. With the stench of death hanging in the air so strong it can be tasted, Queen Soon-Li and her commanders must not only face the armies that surround the King, they must also face the dragons that have gathered to oppose them. If the fortress of Troas is relieved, then they may yet hope to learn the fates of Harkon, the Black Mountains and the Dwarven Border Kingdom as they try to push the enemy north and out of their own kingdom.
Can the prospect of victory be dimly seen in the distance or will defeat still be a possibility as the allied armies ride the Rising Tide?
