Forced from their home near Roanoke, Virginia, George Wadsworth, along with his wife and children, head westward in search of a better life. Soon tragedy strikes, but the Wadsworth family is stubborn and determined to carve their own home from the wilderness of the mountains. Again, disaster strikes the family and the story of the Wadsworth family takes an unexpected turn.
