Learning to forgive oneself and ultimately others is a journey that one must take if one is to find peace and healing from within. Forgiveness is a gift we give to ourselves and not the other way around. Learning to be at peace comes from seeing forgiveness as a principal means and way to let go of something I did not want to begin with - that of anger,resentment and revenge. It is only when you can release these feelings towards yourself and others that you can begin to embrace that which brings solace and contentment.
