Eleven year old Dilly Troll desperately wants to be mean so he'll fit in with his clan, but his kind heart won't allow it. Because of kindness the only creatures who will be his friends are the wild birds and beasts of his mountain home. When the Western Realm's Fairy King chooses Dilly to look after a donkey carrying a treasure chest with gifts meant for the newborn Baby Jesus, Dilly and the entire Realm of Beings learn that kindness is a special gift all on its own.
