Beskrivelse
Victorian glasshouses are an architectural and botanical delight. As the largest surviving Victorian glasshouse, the Temperate House at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is no exception. This book pays tribute to the building, which reopened in May 2018 after a five-year restoration project, by giving a detailed account of its architecture and the diverse temperate zone plants housed within it, some of them as old as the building itself. Architectural sketches, botanical drawings, and archival photographs depict the scope of its collection and give a sense of its impressive past. A true celebration of the Temperate House's 155-year history, this book is a visually lush homage to the celebrated Victorian glasshouse.
