Beskrivelse
Photographer William Ivor Castle shot over 1000 thousand images as a photographer, but only two, taken during the Battle of Vimy Ridge, became famous. They have become iconic symbols of the Canadian Corps in the First World War. Drawing from his complete collection of work, and including over 150 photographs, this book offers a much more expansive understanding of Castle's contribution to both photography and our understanding of WWI, including a close interpretation of the technical choices he made in framing his images, and the context in which this oeuvre developed.
