The Solution To Global Warming Is Not Technological But Psychological

According to many climate scientists, the industrial nations have (or will have) the technology to slow-down global warming and avoid the worst climate catastrophes. But this technology will not continue to be created or payed for or applied unless there is a universal will to do so. We have already been seeing reluctance, purposeful misinformation, and objection to climate science and science in general. So what makes us think this will not increase? This book is about what those mind-sets that are constraining the acceptance of science to deal with global warming (and other urgent current issues) are. But instead of just listing them, it tries to go deep into the long-range causes of them, causes that may surprise you, causes that go back thousands of years into the formation of our traditional worldview. Our present civilization is not used to going very deeply into causes--we tend to live in the superficial present. But we have let important values (like truth, reality, biosphere, science) slide, and now need to reexamine our current worldview to see if it is fit for the planet we now live on.
