When he departs from Copenhagen and revisits far off stomping grounds of quaint Spanish hamlets, Ethan meets a school teacher, Alex, with whom he once played on a football team. Alex inquires of his recollection of a team hike which took place in the summer of '92, The football team hiked a mountain pass without their co-captain Alex, and what happened that day impacted Alex profoundly.
