The Silent Song

The sound of shrieking petered out in the background and the movements of limbs and claws gripping the edges of the stone arch slowed down. Time stopped for what felt like an entire minute to me was only a few seconds to Troye. Now, I had enough time to think. I watched Troye tediously swing up two guns from his slings tied around his shoulders as he forcefully pulled the triggers on both. BANG. BANG. The bullets exploded from out of each barrel and slowly made holes in the heads of two ghastly beasts that silently screeched and fell to their deaths at the mess of red below. Think Think before time itself could catch up. I gripped Deathclaw tightly by the handle and smoothly chopped off the hands of several beasts where the sound of the steel blade slicing through thick infected flesh made my throat dry. Observing, counting, waiting... but I could only see more of them. As time began to speed up again, there was only one thing to do. Reap.
