Beskrivelse
The Second Decade celebrates a small Unitarian Universalist congregation in its twentieth year in the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts. It follows the first volume published in 2005, The Unitarian Universalist Meeting of South Berkshire: Ten Year History 1995-2005, written by Gretchen Dix, that celebrated the long history of Unitarianism and Universalism in the southern region of this rural New England county and told the story of the founding and establishment of its first official Unitarian Universalist church. This second volume recounts how, as renters, UUMSB moved from place to place in Great Barrington, while maintaining a vibrant congregation over the last ten years. It witnesses its journey and steady growth, despite changes and challenges, culminating in the purchase of an historic church building in the village of Housatonic in 2014, the first permanent home for Unitarian Universalists in South Berkshire County since they began worshiping together there nearly 200 years ago.
