What's now affectionately referred to as the Collector's Edition, made its debut with a focus on women as the intended audience. On the inside, in addition to over seven hundred startling quotes from women, are delightfully entertaining pictures and intimate letters from a man lost in the ethereal vortex of true love. The most salacious quotes, and much of the author's own narrative, were sidelined in the spirit of sensitivity. Nevertheless, the majority of women, even those who commissioned this book, absolutely hated it It's since been explained that women loath hearing their own voice on a recording, their driver's license photo, and reliving their mischievous escapades in print. One reader said "We don't like it, even if it is true. These stories are for men to read you idiot." The book quickly became a man's guide to unraveling the mysteries of of the American woman.
