The Romance of Tristan and Iseult

A Cornish knight and an Irish princess meet, fall in love, and pursue their doomed romance. There are many versions of the story, but J. C. Bedier believed they all originated from one poem. A reconstruction of this original poem as he imagined it, "The Romance of Tristan and Iseult" successfully distils the pathos of the tragic romance that has enthralled readers for centuries.
