A play in two acts. Everyone knows the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, that's old news. What nobody knows is the story of the rats, the mice and the cats of Hamelin, and why the power-hungry rats began to overrun the town in the first place. Come on a journey to Hamelin's furry underbelly and meet the vicious rats, the clever mice and the arrogant cats, three very different species who learn that maybe, just maybe, they have more in common than they realise and that sometimes, a little friendship goes a long way. Originally written for children, the concept was simple. The Cats were the played by the oldest children, the mice were played by the youngest and the rest were rats. This allowed the director to work separately with three different classes before putting the whole thing together. Three wildly different gangs, each filled with ancient distrust and fear of the others, find a way to come together and throw away the stupid rulebook that says, just because someone is different, they have to hate anyone who isn't the same......
