The Ras

The Ras, Ireland's national bike race, is one of the longest-surviving stage races in Europe. Begun in 1954 it originally symbolized nationalist aspiration and Irish culture, but quickly became an enormous success and national sporting event. Today's races draw over 200 contestants, some professional, from many different countries.
