Communicating with the dead is nothing new for seven-year-old empath Angie Regan. Becoming one of them is another matter entirely. 



In the spring of 1972, an encounter with a magpie leads Angie into the arms of a killer. Someone she knows and trusts and a well-respected member of the small-town community. When he locks her up in the subcellar of his rundown manor, it is the dead who seek her out. 



Drawn into the labyrinthine world of the afterlife, where the past, present and future blend together, Angie is taunted by a dead bully with a not-so-hidden agenda. But it is the decades-long family secret threatening to bury her for good, that Angie is most afraid of. Can she escape - before Death has its way?
