Eunice Clarke has reason to suspect that the baby girl in her arms is not the baby she gave birth to days before. Consumed by fear and circumstance, she chooses to conceal her nagging doubt - taking the baby home.

Fourteen years later she receives a phone call confirming what she has feared all along. Someone else knows that her teenage daughter isn't hers. But who? If it was a mistake, how could any one else have been aware?
