THE PRESIDENT PART 1The President (always capitalized 'T' and 'P') was created to be a comic book character like the Joker or the Riddler. However, not long into writing a comic book, I realized that the subject matter would lend itself better to a novel.Still, comic book fans will recognize some uniquely comic book-style features in the design and structure of this novel. The President is a classic comic book villain...a character so powerful and so diabolical, that he could not possibly be real.However, The President is even more disturbing because the events described in the novel could happen. In the United States, a general mistrust of traditional American institutions are common. The President attempts to describe and to magnify what feels like chaos and, in doing so, captures a unique era in American history.
