The philosophical paths of Paul Ric¿ur and Emmanuel Levinas

Paul Ricœur and Emmanuel Levinas are two twentieth-century philosophers who have made significant contributions to philosophical thought, although their approaches differ in many respects. Reading the works of Paul Ricœur and Emmanuel Levinas can be an enriching experience, but it can also present challenges due to the complexity of their philosophical ideas.By examining the richness of their ideas, we not only highlight the depth of their philosophical heritage, but above all we hope to provide a key to reading for students in general, and African students in particular, who are increasingly passionate about and even enamored, in the positive sense of the word, of these two authors. Whether we like it or not, these two thinkers have influenced contemporary understanding of the human condition.
