Beskrivelse
"The Passing Playbook" is a feelgood LGBTQ+ novel by debutant Isaac Fitzsimons.
“The Passing Playbook” is about fifteen-years-old Spencer. He is a great big brother, a nerd - which he is proud of and great at soccer. Externally, Spencer is a completely ordinary teenager. But he is transgender which has lead to years of bullying.
Spencer is starting at the private school Oakley which is a fresh start. The classmates here are more accepting, he is getting new friends - and even more - and starting on the boy’s soccer team. But no one at Oakley knows that Spencer is trans.
When Spencer’s coach discovers a “F” on Spencer’s birth certificate, national law forces him to put Spencer on the bench. Now, Spencer has to decide whether he is satisfied with cheering from the bench or he wants to fight for his rights. The latter option also means to come out to everyone he knows.
“The Passing Playbook” is Isaac Fitzsimons’ first book. With this LGBTQ+ book Isaac Fitzsimons wants to show young adults that they are all heroes in their own lifes.
