The Night

Detective Mike Lightner is given a case that just will not stop growing. When he is assigned the murder case of a suspected rapist, Carl banks, he soon finds that the murderer is on a killing spree. Within 24 hours four more bodies are discovered, and the count just keeps rising. Enter Special Agent Robert Hemming of the FBI. Hemming has come to Buxton, Florida to find out if the murders here are committed by the same person that killed as many as 18 in Atlanta. Lightner and Hemming join forces to track down and stop the horrendous acts of slaughter. Soon they find that the murder victims are all, in one way or another, tied to a national sex ring. The two law enforcement officers always seem to be too late and arrive only to find another victim. Almost every victim is murdered in a different way. After forming a joint task force to capture the national pedophile ring, Lightner and the others become the hunted. Hired assassins sent by men of highly influential people that mean to stop the task force before they uncover how truly deep this ring goes. It all ends with not one but two showdowns. One against the assassins. the other against the serial killer.
