Beskrivelse
In this fourth book in the Dojo Kun Character Book series, Michi, introduces her little cousin to the karate dojo. Unfortunately, young Damian brings Disrespect and Trouble with him. This causes problems wherever he goes. These negative character traits, embodied by fly larvae, help Damian wreak havoc, both outside of karate classes, and in them. Can Michi and her best friend Makoto help in this tricky situation?
Makoto and Michi do a great job of encouraging Damian. They even teach him a simple version of the Dojo Kun (karate's traditional values). They watch Damian closely and stick by him to fight off Disrespect and Trouble. That helps a lot.
But will Damian ever be able to succeed in karate and in life, if Makoto and Michi let him do it on his own? How can they lead Damian in the right direction while also letting him learn to fight off his own negative character traits himself?
Written and illustrated by an experienced martial arts instructor, this children's picture book uses the backdrop of traditional karate. It helps all children learn about promoting respect and leading by example. It is a great tool for teaching kids about positive character traits.
