The Never-Ending Present

- More than 11 million Canadians watched what was likely the final Tragically Hip show on August 20, 2016. Nine of their fourteen studio albums have hit number 1 on the music charts, and the band has won 14 Juno Awards. All five members of the band will receive the Order of Canada in 2017.

- Gord Downie was declared "newsmaker of the year" by CP, Maclean's, and many other outlets at the end of 2016. He has been battling terminal brain cancer since 2015.
