The Word of the Living God is our manna, sent from heaven. It is given to nourish us. And, just like the Israelites, we are to gather it and partake of it daily. God's Word is our daily sustenance. Nothing is placed in the Bible by accident. Everything in the Bible has a meaning. In the Old Testament, the name of God was so important, that Moses would not go forth until he knew what God's name was. Do we hold God's name in such high regard now? Do we even know God's name?
God often used a person's name to reveal aspects of their background, character, or destiny. What about God? Does He have names for Himself? And if so, do these names have meaning for us today? Well, of course they do, He has many names for Himself.
Understanding the names of God and what they mean, opens up the Scriptures to you. By understanding His names and what they mean, we can avoid confusion when reading the Scriptures, and deepen our understanding and relationship to the Father.
