The Naked Modeller: Religious Exhibitionism, Social Nudity and Practical Weight Control

Maurice Cowley spent his working life as a lecturer in, and later a professor of, Mathematics at a well-known university, which he prefers not to name to save that establishment having to acknowledge having condoned his strange interests.

When he retired, he was encouraged to take up life drawing. He also experienced issues with weight gain and the risk of Type 2 Diabetes. He decided to conduct a series of experiments to address his weight problems. For this purpose, he enlisted the help of two good friends, the Revd. and Mrs. Jowett Javelin to assist in his investigations and decided to write and illustrate this little book about what he discovered about re-modelling his own body so that he was confident enough to model for the life drawing group he had joined. It also tells of the hidden depths he discovered in the changing attitudes of his two friends.
