The Monster of Lake Eufaula

The Monster of Lake Eufaula is the sixth novel in The Bremen and Whitacre Murder Mystery Series, one of the five series of novels for MW Burdette. This mystery features Daphne Whitacre, detective and wife of John Bremen, the former FBI Director in Dallas, Texas, before he and Daphne moved back to his hometown of Ashburn, Alabama. SGT Clara Bruster, formerly of the Cullman Police Department has joined the agency, and teams up with Klahan Chu, an old friend of John's from the Vietnam era. Ms. Julie Anderson has recently finished her Criminology Degree at the University of Alabama and she has become an integral part of the detective agency.

The Monster of Lake Eufaula takes the reader on an exciting journey through the imaginary, possibly haunted area surrounding one of the largest manmade freshwater lakes in the United States. Known for its fantastic bass and crappie fishing, John has decided that he needs to relieve stress by taking up the hobby of bass fishing. He convinces his best friend and fellow detective, Trans Klahan Chu, to join him in his adventure.

SGT Clara Bruster and Daphne think both of these well-respected men are having mid-life crises, but they try to be supportive without having to make the fishing trip themselves. The recreational adventure turns into a missing person's report when two teenagers vanish from Lake Eufaula's wooded shores. The Bremen and Whitacre Detective Agency is hired to solve the case.
