The Thirteenth Century was witness to one of the greatest military conflicts. On one side were the Mongols, builders and rulers of the largest empire the world has ever known, and on the other side the samurai of Japan, skilled and disciplined warriors with battle in their blood. This is the story of the only occasion on which a full strength Mongol army was ever defeated.
