They both work at the Bailey's Bookshop, which is the city's most popular independent bookstore. Unfortunately, the book store might be closed, and they booth look into the risk of unemployment. They therefore makes an agreement: whoever sells the most in December gets to stay; and the loser will resign. Meanwhile Gabby’s deceptive ex keeps pursuing her, and her unknown online friend suggests they take a break.
