The Miracle Within Me

I'd given my life to a man who promised to stick by me through thick and thin.  I gave up my best friend and the only family I had left to be with him.  I moved on and grew into the shell that he molded for me.  By the time I realized what I'd done it was too late.  The damage was done.  He left me broken and alone.  The only good that remains of our broken home is the old pear tree out by the lake and the partridge that often visits me.

On the day my marriage came to an end, Austin found me.  He's still everything he once was to me; kind, nurturing, caring, and my best friend.  But this time he wants more.  He wants us to be a family.  I don't know if I can give him all that he desires.  My heart is telling me to take a chance, but what if I'm wrong?  What if my past repeats itself and I'm left alone again to pick up the pieces?
