That's what Strul told himself. So, what if he really had to wait to have an accepting female when he went home? They were there and ready for a little rough and tumble. He was free and learning the "reclamation" business his best friend had been running on his own for years. Adventure without getting shot in someone else's war was preferrable than dying on some god forsaken world that someone else wanted but had enough money to pay someone else to fight.
Isa had accepted she was never going home, never seeing her family again. She just wanted to put her abduction behind her and get on with learning to be the best space veterinarian in this sector of the galaxy. She was so close to being able to work on her own on the large animals she preferred.
