Revelation 12:1 says, "Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars." Much dispute surrounds this interpretation. Some say she is Mary; others say she is Israel. Only one woman in the Old Testament encountered the serpent, Eve in Genesis 3. Only one woman in the New Testament encountered the serpent, this woman in Revelation 12. "If we put Genesis 3 and Revelation 12 together, we see that the woman of Revelation 12 is the woman God purposed in His eternal plan and everything that will happen to her at the end time is clearly stated here" (Nee).
