The Madame

History professor Tilda Maples has been on the trail of the famous nineteenth-century lecture circuit healer and seer, Madame Gravari, for years. She yearns to discover how the Madame jumped from itinerant performances in the countryside to the parlors of debutantes by the 1920s. The trail, however, seems to grow cold by the eve of the stock market crash. Through a series of fateful events, Tilda is thrown into Gravari's world of intrigue.
