What happens if zombies were real? Not dead, but living. Barnabas, who is a self-diagnosed sociopath, has activated a lethal pandemic. Like salt is to slugs, HV-RE6 is to humans. The stage has been set; the virus spreads. Now Barnabas watches humanity writhe, like the parasites he believes them to be.Hade, Justin and London are ordinary people living ordinary lives. The world around them has become chaotic. Food shortages are rampant, the stock market is fluctuating wildly and an economic crisis is on the way. When no help is forthcoming, they realize they must leave all they've known and head north. From Florida to Maine, they must fight obstacles, rabid dogs and zombies that get in their way. They must face their fears and survive. There is no help coming, the Mad Dog Event has spread too rapidly. Hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of the zombies are mutating, becoming focused and targeting them. How many bullets can you fire before they overrun, swarm and engulf you? These creatures do not lumber along, but are swift and as fast as the uninfected. Guang and Jia's days are numbered. Beijing is filled with hundreds of thousands of jiangshi (zombies), and their numbers are growing fast. Guang must find the courage to leave the city. They must escape Beijing and find a safe haven, but with the billions that inhabit China, that's gonna be a little tricky.
