The Long Winter

Insulated from the chaos of governmental collapse by miles of tundra, the citizens of a remote village in what was once Alaska have carved out a stable, if difficult, life for themselves. But the arrival of an Outsider upsets the delicate balance, setting off a chain of events that draws the village's future into question, as resentments previously simmering beneath the surface bubble forth. The Long Winter is a tale of tyranny, insanity, infidelity, and despair. In a struggle for survival in one of the harshest places imaginable, one still may find that the greatest threat to a man may be his brother and to a wife, her husband.
