After fifty years of peace, war again threatens the majestic world of Aela. Her great champions, the Guardians, who successfully quelled the Angelic insurgency and ended the Civil War, have disappeared. As news of their disappearance spreads through the realm, chaos ensues and whispers run rampant of a new Angelic uprising. With another war on the horizon, a reluctant hero emerges.



The task of saving the world has fallen on the scrawny shoulders of Reuel Haldane. A lanky, green-skinned fourteen-year-old boy, Reuel belongs to a race known as the Windwalkers. Like his fellow Windwalkers, he possesses exceptional speed and agility. It is customary on Aela that at the age of fourteen, the children of the five races- Windwalkers, Shimmers, Grindblers, Aquatis, and Angelics-travel to the Kingdom of Ira to have their abilities assessed and classified. It is here Reuel discovers the truth about the Guardians' disappearance and the role he must now play in the coming war.



With the fate of Aela now in his hands, Reuel must lead a group of misfits on a journey to avenge the Guardians and make a stand against the Angelic threat. If he fails, he'll have to watch all that he loves destroyed.
