The Kiwi and Emu are both flightless birds but Kathy describes herself as "The kiwi bird who does fly.' She is a grandmother who when back in her home country of New Zealand took up flying Cessna's at thirty-eight. She later moved to Western Australia and got her aerobatic endorsement and at forty-eight became Western Australia's first female licenced to fly a microlight. A microlight is also referred to as a trike. The wing is like a hang gliding wing and Kathy describes the aircraft as being like a motorbike in the sky With her husband, Gary she towed it around Australia over a two year period, and flew in places like Kakadu looking for crocodiles This story tells the many challenges she faced, including one frightening experience before the journey had begun Kathy gives some insight also into some of Australia's beautiful outback country . You will agree Kathy is one gutsy lady. Kathy will be making available a second version with a lot more pictures in but of course to be expected, it will be priced at a higher price to cover the printing . The kindle version has colour photos.
