This is an introductory book on Hanukkah. Hanukkah - The Jewish festival of lights is one of the most popular holidays in Judaism. The word itself means "Dedication." The meaning will make sense shortly. I recall Hanukkah very well as a child. Since I grew up in a mixed household, we celebrated Hanukkah, Christmas, and my birthday which happened to follow Christmas. It was good to be me. I was spoiled rotten. The interesting thing about Hanukkah is that although there is a big to-do about it in the Jewish community, it is one of the lesser festivals and is not technically a "Holy day," such as Passover and Rosh Hashana are. The main difference is that Hanukkah commemorates an event that took place within Post- Biblical Judaism, and it revolves around human endeavors. Meaning, the holiday is generated from events within the Jewish community due to personal and collective volition. In this case, it was due to a rebellion against tyranny. The only other Holiday in Judaism that I can think of that is comparable is Purim. Whereas Passover and Rosh Hashana took place within the biblical period and were deemed to be commandments directly from God, the Hebrews had little to no choice as to whether to celebrate them or not. You either did, or you died. Despite this stark difference in "holiday types," Hanukkah, does have significance that is very far-reaching and mystical. It is one of the most mystical festivals of Judaism. At least to those who are comfortable with mystical ideas. In this book, I am going to cover the basic mystical aspects of Hanukkah with several meditations to help you tap into its power. This book may appear to be geared towards people who have some experience with the holiday, but I will be sure to make it accessible to all. As with all my books, I will discuss a fair amount of history. However, this book is meant to be more experiential and therefore will focus mostly on the Kabbalistic aspects of the Holiday in more depth and will take you through a cursory look of the history of the holiday itself. You will learn: The Significance of HanukkahHanukkah TraditionsThe Miracle of HanukkahThe Kabbalah of HanukkahThe Tree of Life Emanations and the Hanukkah CandlesThe Mystical Expression of HanukkahKabbalistic Meditations of Hanukkah - These will be very easy meditations, to get your feet wet. These are by no means advanced but tailored for the very beginner. However, they are powerful, nonetheless.
