The 100th Anniversary of the Great War is coming to a close. Collectively and as individuals, we have commemorated battles fought, those won and lost, and remembered the many lives sacrificed for the greater good. This anthology attempts to capture elements of the journey to The Front, and some of the action. There is a loose narrative running through the poems, with some differing perspectives. The class divide was much more evident a hundred years ago, so some of the characters are drawn from this division. This is a view of war at a century's distance in time, but I suspect that the emotions of squaddies and officers and their parents and families probably haven't changed that much.
