Beskrivelse
Folktales have been an important part of Indian culture since ancient times. These tales, which are passed down orally from generation to generation, provide a window into the culture and history of India. This book, The Indian Folktales: An Exploration of India's Oral Folklore Traditions, seeks to explore the history and significance of Indian folktales and the many ways in which they have shaped Indian culture and society.
This book is intended to serve as an introduction to the rich history and culture of Indian folktales for readers who are new to the subject. It explores the various traditional forms of Indian oral folklore, the role of folktales in Indian culture, and the various types of folktale characters. It also examines the impact of Indian folktales on the global market, the economics of Indian folklore, and the cultural significance of Indian folklore.
The book draws on research from a variety of sources, including interviews with key figures in the Indian folklore industry, archival materials, and cultural analysis. I have also conducted extensive field research in India, including attending storytelling events, interviewing folklorists, and visiting locations associated with the production of Indian folktales. Through this research, I hope to provide readers with a comprehensive understanding of the Indian folktale industry and its various components.
