The Imperative

Those particular soul qualities, as which "animals" exist for us now, are approaching us, seeking us out. There is something the "animals" need from the human being, as its higher representative. They are coming in from the cold, as it were, after cultural banishment for thousands of years. What do these soul figures want? What must we humans prepare for? What is coming to birth in human beings that prepares the animal's return? This book is the story of one man's initiation into the mysteries of his and natures' abysmal depths. It tells what he found there and what made a claim of him, bringing him into service as a mouthpiece. He found his way to an answer to these and other questions which hunted him, caught him, impressed themselves into him, tormenting him, and finally, initiating him. Let's call him David. This book is an expanded and revised edition of my 2011 edition.
